NDT LEVEL 3 OPERATOR

TESTIA, an Airbus company for over 25 years, specializes in Aerostructure Inspection & Non-Destructive Testing (NDT). We serve our clients through all inclusive study contracts, technical assistance mission, specialized training courses and state of the art products & software, for OEMs and their suppliers as well as airlines and MROs.
In the frame of its development in the Asia pacific Region, TESTIA is looking for a NDT Level 3 operator. The position is based in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia).

Mission:

Under the supervision of the TESTIA’s Regional Manager and in collaboration with the TESTIA team in the region, your mission includes:

Level 3 services:
– To perform tasks of Level 3 service in-situ both for maintenance and manufacturing.
– NDT Procedure writing and validation according to the aerospace standards.
– To advise customers for the development of new inspection methods.
– To participate to the setting up of new inspection devices and machines.
– To prepare and follow up the NADCAP certification of customers.
– To evaluate / qualify new NDT equipments or machines.
– To prepare or realize internal or external audits NDT audits for manufacturing or maintenance environment.
– To perform the skill review of the certified staff L1 or L2.
– To write and/or review written practices of the customers.
– To perform NDT trainings and examinations.
– To perform inspections on customer site.

NDT Training / examination:
– To supply NDT trainings according to EN 4179 / NAS 410
– To supply NDT examination according to EN 4179 / NAS 410 though full employer certification scheme or National Board (COSAC, BINDT).
– To define courses and examination in the frame of the ermployer certification scheme.

NDT inspections:
– To perform L2 NDT inspections for manufacturing.
– To perform L2 NDT inspection for maintenance under Part 145 agreement.

Operational / commercial Responsibility:
– In support to your hierarchy, you are responsible for the technical development of the Malaysian office of TESTIA Asia Pacific: equipment, machines, training facilities…
– You are the responsible for the development of your technical perimeter through all the activities listed above in Malaysia and, supporting the team, in the Asia Pacific Region.

Profile:

Experienced background with 5 to 10 years experience in Aerospace for MRO and manufacturing. Being Level 3 EN4179 / NAS 410 in at least one method and L2 in 3 methods is mandatory for the job.

You shall be energetic, innovative, curious, enthusiastic, constructive, autonomous, rigorous and polyvalent.
You shall be able to lead several projects at a time, while dealing with priorities.
You shall wish to progress within an innovative and growing medium-size company.
A good level of English is essential.

An additional PART 145/FAR 145 training and experience will be a plus.

UT Level 2 qualified NDT inspectors either EN4179 /NAS 410 or ISO9712 considered but must have Aerospace experience.
All applicants must have verifiable training and experience records to enable their application to progress.
The requirement is a fixed contract for a 24 month period where personnel must be willing to stay for the term of contract to give continuity.

Following a specialised 3 month training program at the facility personnel will be examined by the customer Responsible Level 3 utilising the company’s specialised UT equipment and processes.

Shift pattern
Weeks 1 to 4 – day shift 08:00 – 16:30
Weeks 5-12 – Continental shift pattern 2 days, 2 nights 4 days off (all 12 hour shifts 07:00 – 19:00 etc.)
Months 4 – 24 inclusive will be continuous continental shift as week’s 5-12.

Contract will attract a shift premium and an end of contract bonus will also be paid.

Job Description

The Quality / Compliance Manager is responsible for:

  • Defining the company Quality Management System within the operational levels to ensure all areas of the business are working to QMS requirements
  • Ensuring the Quality Management System is managed, maintained and developed to the highest service and cost effective level
  • Liaise with external certification bodies to ensure QMS remains certified to relevant standards (BINDT ATO / OA / NANDTB / EN9100:2016 (AS9100D) / EN 9001:2015 / NADCAP / Part 145 MOE)
  • Develop and implement an internal audit plan, identifying and addressing non-compliances and improvement opportunities
  • Host / attend customer meetings and customer audits (onsite and offsite)
  • Work closely with customer auditors to assess the QMS system and demonstrate compliance
  • Ensuring non-conformances, production permits and concessions are progressed and closed out within customer expected timescales to expected levels of detail and consistency
  • Develop and build in quality to all processes to minimise inspection times / queries
  • Work closely with customers on any specific Quality initiatives
  • Develop and communicate clear action plans to address Quality problems and process issues (i.e. Sub contractor queries, inspection queries, manufacturing quality process queries)
  • Development and deployment of relevant Quality instructions, visual management systems, First Off and Final inspection procedures , standard operations for Quality processes and work instructions for specific tasks within the QMS system
  • To produce and to be accountable of all Key performance indicators (KPI) and report
    them to the management team.
  • Maintain a list of Approved Suppliers
  • Assist in the collation and analysis of business metrics across the major process areas
  • Review and approval of staff personal competence and certification
  • Certification release of customer deliveries

Transnational Leader for cross nation Auditing processes

You will report directly to the Chief Operations Officer (COO)
Your mission will be:
– To be in charge and to develop and operate a Quality Auditing system aligned with our Testia Group Quality management team
– To audit all areas of Testia to ensure adherence to operational excellence at all Testia sites
– With operations and other functional areas, participate to write, review, revise and implement internal procedures within the organization.
– Corrective/Preventive Actions and Customer Complaints – With the COO and the HO quality system be the CA/PA administration and will raise and/or oversee any necessary CA/PAs, distribute, review responses and verify effective implementation.
– Interface with customers and respond to customer complaints and corrective actions

The Successful Applicant

The successful Quality / Compliance Manager will have:

  • Finalized Operational Excellence studies in production, engineering or similar technical
    fields
    • Ideally educated in quality management systems
    • Min 5 years’ experience in auditing of production / In service environments
    • Experience in Auditing to a lead Auditor standard or similar
    • Experience in Aerospace recognized quality system (EN9100, ISO17025, NADCAP, etc.)
    • Preferable knowledge as an auditor of Aero structure supplier
    • Fluent in English written and spoken
    • Preferable French, German and/or Spanish language skills
    • Willingness to travel
    • Flexible, able to work in a team and having the necessary authority
    In this function you are directly reporting to the Managing Director of the Testia Ltd and the
    COO of the Testia Holding.
  • Full apprenticeship, ONC/HNC/HND or relevant university degree in a mechanical engineering discipline
  • Experience within the Aerospace sector
  • Worked at a Senior Quality Engineer or management level within quality
  • Good working knowledge of AS standards
  • NADCAP experience would be beneficial
  • EASA Form 4 Compliance manager compliant
  • Knowledge of NDT
