We are proud to announce that our Testia Friedberg and Testia Ottobrunn sites have successfully won the recent Call for Tender, securing a contract extension for Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) services for Airbus Helicopters in Donauwörth.
This new agreement guarantees the continuation of our partnership for at least five additional years, confirming the strong collaboration that began in 2019. This renewal, secured against competition from three other major NDT providers, significantly increases our service volume and ensures the stability of local jobs.
Technical Scope and Expertise
The Friedberg team specializes in the inspection of high-performance carbon fiber composite structures used in several helicopter types, including the Airbus H135, H145, H160, and NH90 platforms.
Our five-person team is primarily focused on Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing to inspect approximately 2,000 to 3,000 structural components annually across all four helicopter programs. This encompasses a comprehensive range of critical structures, including:
- Cockpits and Cabin Sections
- Tail and Aft Structures
- Internal Frames and Cabin Roofs
The team from Ottobrunn will also be performing NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) tasks using computed tomography for Airbus Helicopters for the next five years. Four employees there will be conducting inspections alongside Airbus Helicopters. The scope of work for Airbus Helicopters includes the following components:
- Latch Shaft
- Drive Shaft
This contract solidifies Testia’s position as a trusted partner in ensuring the structural integrity of next-generation aircraft in the aerospace sector. We look forward to many more years of successful collaboration with Airbus Helicopters.
